About the role
Most of us use mobile applications every day, but building one involves quite a bit more than creating a few screens. Mobile developers work on the functionality behind those screens, connect applications to backend services and make sure everything works properly across different devices.
Depending on the role, you might develop native Android applications using Kotlin or Java, or build cross-platform applications using Flutter.
Typical work includes developing screens, integrating APIs, managing application state, fixing crashes, improving performance and preparing new application releases.
Mobile developers are employed by software companies, startups, digital agencies, fintech businesses and organisations building their own mobile products.
A good mobile developer understands programming fundamentals, can work with APIs and knows how to build applications that are stable and comfortable to use.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain Android or cross-platform mobile applications
- Build application screens based on designs and product requirements.
- Connect applications with backend APIs and third-party services.
- Implement authentication, navigation and application state management.
- Work with local databases and remote data storage.
- Identify and fix crashes, bugs and performance issues.
- Test applications across different devices and Android versions.
- Prepare application builds and support publishing and release updates.
